The anthem
Peace from East
In 2004, I recorded a peace anthem: Peace From East. Two words. One singer. No verses, no chorus. The same year, a music video was made across Pakistan, the UAE and Thailand — peace signs, faces, hands.
Its audio became part of the UK Department for Education and Skills anti-bullying film Making the Difference and of Little Boy: The Peace Play (Ohio, USA, 2005), a theatre-dance production marking the sixtieth anniversary of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It was recognized at the World Peace Film and Music Festival before delegates from sixty countries, and has been heard in more than forty countries.
From 2027, it is renewed every year with new peace-sign videos from the East. Just faces, signs, and the anthem.
